To The Moon & Back: Creating Carrie & Than's Unforgettable Houston Wedding Film

Flying from Manchester, England to Houston, Texas to film Carrie and Than's wedding was an adventure in itself. Due to an unexpected snowstorm, I found myself with the perfect opportunity to edit their wedding film in record time, bringing their magical day to life even faster than anticipated. 

At Timeless Wedding Videography, every wedding we film tells a unique story, and Carrie and Than's celebration was nothing short of extraordinary. Their wedding was filled with heartfelt moments, stunning details, and a love story that radiated through every frame.

Southern Hospitality

My family are American citizens, based in Tacoma, Washington, and Houston, Texas, so Houston is a home away from home - though on this particular trip the unprecedented snow storm made it feel very much like the Derbyshire, Peaks. It seems I took the snow with me... you're welcome, Houston.

Even before my family set up there, I've loved Texan culture. Though I've yet to be granted permission to don a cowboy hat, I've adopted many Texan ways as my own. (Gig 'em, Aggies. Go Rockets... and... the Cowboys...).

And yet, despite very much feeling part of a community there, each time I make the trip the famous Southern Hospitality comes as a delightful surprise. The assemblage of welcomers, well-wishers and dancers brought together in the form of wedding guests and vendors felt more like a vast room of old friends, and made filming the wedding a pleasure.

One of the benefits of hiring an international wedding videographer in Houston is that the little differences, the decor, the way people interact with one another, how they dance, the rituals and the venue leap out as, well, foreign to me. This, I think, is a good quality in a wedding videographer as it's these little details and moments that ultimately make the wedding film what it is beyond the traditions, and what make it truly unique, in this case, to Carrie and Than.

A Venue Full of Charm

The wedding took place at The Bell Tower in Houston, a beautiful venue offering a perfect blend of elegance and warmth. Ivy climbs the charming architecture, and the enclosed walls gives the ambiance of a luxury riad, providing a picturesque backdrop, enhancing every shot.

Moments That Mattered

From the emotional first look to the tearful vows and the lively reception, every moment was a testament to Carrie and Than's deep connection. One of the highlights was recreating family photos with Than's family, who'd flown in from Thailand for the special occasion.

Personal Touches

Carrie and Than's wedding was rich with personal touches that reflected their personalities and journey together. The unforgettable moment when Darth Vader's "Imperial March" played, followed by cowboys popping up in the audience wielding lightsabers just before Carrie walked down the aisle, brought a fun and unexpected twist to the ceremony.

Adding to the charm, their beloved dogs accompanied the flower girl, dressed in adorable wedding attire, delighting all the guests.
